Here’s one of the popular Aurora urban myths. I’ve heard it from a number of sources, neighbors and an elected office holder.
It is said that 10% of the townhouses at Barrington are set aside for Section 8 low income housing. The Section 8 Rental Voucher Program increases affordable housing choices for very low-income households by allowing families to choose privately owned rental housing.
I asked Residence at Barrington leasing agent Brad if there are any Section 8 rentals. “Absolutly not,” he said. “We are a luxury townhouse residence, our townhomes are leased to those who income qualify. There are no low income Section 8 leases at Barrington.”
